With Tiger in hiding and his last comment was “I decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf", who will be the top PGA golfer for 2010? The first name that comes to mind is Phil Mickelson.

After reviewing some statistics, it appears another golf is up for the challenge: Steve Stricker.

Below are their 2009 rankings in each category:

Mickelson Stricker
Fed Ex Playoffs   2 3
World Rankings   2 3
Top Ten Finishes   8 2
Scoring Average   28 2

Interesting stuff! It appears Steve can give Phil a run for his money. I wonder how these guys finished in the four majors this year.

Mickelson Stricker
Masters   5 6
U.S. Open 2 23
British Open   DNP 52
PGA   73 CUT

I am a Phil Mickelson fan, but I like Steve's chances. What do you think? If you can justify someone better for top PGA golfer for 2010, we will give you a Competitive Golf Association embroided tri-fold golf towel for free.

I am also a Phil fan. Those would both be my top choices.
