I have been on Twitter for a couple months. I had heard about it for the first time a couple weeks before. The funny thing is Twitter had already been around for three years. At that time it had grown over 1300% in the previous 12 months. Its growing at even a faster pace now. We have attracted almost 500 followers and have socialized with many new friends. The micro blogging concept of allowing up to 140 characters for your updates helps influences its appeal. I read once recent article saying that Twitter overtaking RSS feeds for the latest information. I agree. I even suggested to my Twitter friend Andy Brown about having meet and greet on a regular basis for golf twitter. He is going to write a blog and raise awareness and get some feedback on how to pusue it.
If you have not tried Twitter, you should consider it. It’s free. If you follow people with your interests, you will be amazed of the new friends you will meet and the information you will receive. I follow primarily the golfing industry, including some golf professionals. I have noticed that even more of them are joining Twitter recently. John Daly and Morgan Pressel are great about tweeting back to their fans. I would say more, but I'm off to Twitter.
